The PAS is pushing for a ridiculous idea, that of a ‘motion of confidence’ in favour of a prime minister who is not from their party.s
On top of that, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the prime minister of a government elected by the people. It is immoral of an Islamic party to suggest support for the PM while the party is in the opposition.
Not only it goes against democratic principles it is also a joke.
And if Tun Mahathir is okay with the PAS making a foul of Malaysian democracy, then he has to explain his support for this motion to the people.
Furthermore, there is no such thing as a motion of confidence in a Parliamentary democracy.
What the PAS is proposing is a complete disregard or a show of total disrespect for the workings of the Parliament.
An opposition party can only bring a motion of no confidence against a government. There is no such thing as a ‘motion of confidence’.
The PAS wants to drag Dr Mahathir in the ridicule.
Hence, will the true Dr Mahathir, the Prime Minister of the Pakatan Harapan government stand up and reject this idea?
If he is incapable to do this because he is ‘floating’ at the love from the PAS, then he might as well quit as PM.
Because he is not only betraying his promises to the people when he took oath as PM, he is also participating in a ridiculous agenda to make foul of the August Parliament!
